Community Survey for Superintendent Selection
The KPBSD Board of Education seeks public input into its process to select a superintendent of schools. The school board invites input from everyone interested in schools, including parents, students, KPBSD staff, site councils, PTAs, volunteers, business and community organizations that partner with schools, community groups, and the public. The school board has sole responsibility for the selection of candidates, final interviews, and selection of the superintendent, but would like to consider the views and interests of the public to help guide those decisions. Survey is open until February 9th, 2015.
Please share your thoughts about issues to be addressed in the upcoming collective bargaining process. Click here to learn more and for the online comment link.

The council decided at December’s meeting to cancel the January Site Council meeting. It was scheduled for this Thursday and everyone decided it was too close to the December meeting!
We will meet again on February on 12th. Our new Superintendent is scheduled to attend this meeting so mark the date on your calendar!
The District has requested that the SSSBC hosts the budget development meeting on the night of its regular meeting. There will be a short site council meeting afterwards. This is a great opportunity for council members to be involved in the development of the draft budget instead of getting the information after it is already complete. The District budget is a very important topic and directly affects our students. They are specifically requesting feedback on what areas should be reduced and what areas should be increased. Please make sure to attend this meeting. October 9 at 6:00 p.m. in the high school library.
